Perceptual Skills Development @ Firgrove PS

PERCEPTUAL TRAINING @ FIRGROVE PS

Educators @ Firgrove PS also use CAMI Products in the LAB. On top of that, STIMU-ZONE do a whole program of PERCEPTUAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT. These skills development program includes:
1. Letter association;
2. Beginning sounds;
3. Number association;
4. Basic counting skills;
5. Number recognition;
6. Pattern sequencing;
7. Sorting and ordering;
8. Classification and many other perceptual skills.

I must compliment the school. They have embarked on a program of pro-active perceptual skills intervention. Well done Firgrove PS.

Interesting! It is indeed true that basic perceptual development forms a huge part of learner general educational development process to success in future. Foundation phase education forms the backbone of skills development and should be implemented right through learner’s educational maturity phases. When learners have a lack in reading and numeracy basics, it influences all the subjects. Technology can easily been used to fill that gap. This can only happens if we acknowledge the value of structural education from Gr R to 12. This will empower all to use all methods possible to fulfill that need within our learners.
